The  Holy talent tree is used for players that want to heal in PvE scenarios. Priests can only wear cloth armor. A priest normally doesn’t have a lot of hitpoints unless he gets a lot of high tier PvP gear but they do however have a nice mana pool. If you decide to become a Shadow priest you will have to have particular stats on your gear. You should aim for a lot of spirit, intellect, spell power,  and hit and crit rating.

For holy priests it is similar but they for them haste rating is much more important than the hit or crit rating. One downside of a priest is leveling it because it takes quite a bit of time, even if you decide to level it as a Shadow priest.
