These are items that any character in their account regardless of that character’s level can take advantage of.
With Lake Wintergrasp’s high popularity, and the trend toward PvP combat in the gaming industry, there will surely be even more World PvP in the future. So let’s talk about Hunters and PvP:
Playing a Hunter class character in WoW PvP requires some of the skills of a real hunter. You need to be able to quickly pick out a target and understand its likely behavior so you can anticipate what it will do next. You also need to know the capabilities of your character and its gear. And you need to be able to maneuver into the optimal position to take on your prey without becoming a target yourself.
However, in Hunter PvP combat, there are issues that no real-world hunter has to deal with. Understanding the optimum time to use your Freezing and Frost Traps and essential crowd control devices is necessary but not enough. You also need to know how to maintain the ideal distance between you and your opponents so you can hurt them as badly as possible before they get close in each duel. And you must do all this against a foe who is trying just as hard to out-think and out-maneuver you as you are to do the same to him.
If you want to be really successful in Hunter PvP combat, you need to understand the behavior of each class of opponent and have a strategy for defeating them. It’s particularly important to understand how Druids, Warriors, and Rogues are likely to approach you. And you need to know how to respond against those classes that can charge into hand-to-hand combat range quickly, such as Warriors and Rogues.
It’s possible to learn what you need to know by putting in enough time in the arena. But I can tell you from personal experience that if you try, you had better be prepared to get defeated regularly and be humiliated for a long time. I spent many frustrating hours ranking last or near last in the standings when I tried. It wasn’t until I picked up a Hunter PvP Guide that I started climbing in the standings rapidly.
